On Tuesday, Sri Lanka crushed Ireland by an innings and 280 runs, the highest victory margin in Test match history and the largest by a South Asian country.
The visitors were all out for 168 on day three in a hot and muggy Galle International Stadium, which was also Ireland’s heaviest defeat to date.
The West Indies victory against England in 2007 by an innings and 283 runs was the greatest innings victory in Test history.
The previous largest victory for Sri Lanka came in a thrashing of Zimbabwe in 2004 at Bulawayo by an innings and 254 runs.
Sri Lanka declared their first innings on a whopping 591.
