CNN has announced that Russia will withdraw from the International Space Station project after 2024.
On Tuesday, the new head of Russia’s space research agency Roscosmos,
Yuri Borisov, informed President Vladimir Putin about this.
The head of the Space Research Organization told Putin that we are working according to international standards in the International Space Station.
We will fulfill the promises we made with our friends. But it has been decided to leave the station after 2024.
He added, “I think by this time, we will be able to build Russia’s own space station.”

Meanwhile, Russia’s departure could be a major blow to the International Space Station.
Because the International Space Station has been an example of international cooperative relations for the last few decades.
Russia’s relations with the United States and Europe have worsened due to its war against Ukraine.

NASA, Russia’s Roscosmos, Japan’s JAZA, Europe’s ESA and Canada’s CSA space agency work on the International Space Station.
